The Sabin Vaccine Institute’s Vaccination Acceptance Research Network (VARN) will be hosting its second annual conference co-convened with UNICEF and co-sponsored by Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance and in support of COVID-19 Vaccine Delivery Partnership priority countries. This meeting will be an in-person event with facilitation of virtual presentations as needed. Conference sessions will provide a space for exploration and facilitate the wide dissemination of a growing body of knowledge, practice, and evidence-informed strategies for driving action across the vaccination acceptance, demand, and delivery ecosystem. A ‘post-live’ publishing of recorded sessions will be made available to all registrants on the conferencing website.

This year’s conference will focus on three core themes:

  1. Vaccine equity, as it relates to zero-dose children, marginalized communities, conflict-settings, gender, etc.;
  2. Recovery and reimagining childhood essential immunization, including its integration into other health service delivery programs, from the policy-level through to service delivery at community-level; and
  3. Life-course immunization and the opportunity we have in a post-pandemic world to continue building on the value of such programs, including a focus on HPV, pandemic preparedness, and integrated approaches.

At VARN2023, we will be providing simultaneous live audio interpretation in French and English for all sessions. All posters in English and French will have translated abstract handouts provided.

Watch this space for the upcoming speaker announcements and the agenda. Explore the VARN2022 conference report and recordings for insights from last year’s convening.
